A HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL

Thakadu Primary School is situated in Kgakala Location about 3km from Leeudoringstad. Leeudoringstad is situated in Dr Kenneth Kaunda region in North West Province. The School first started in 1952 and was officially opened on May 1955. Its fisrt Principal was Mr Mashokwe, the second Principal (Acting) was Mr Modirwa, and the third acting Principal was Mr Mafongosi. in 1972 Mr Madisekwane was the acting Principal for just few months till Mr Mosala became the Principal of the school till 1990 when he meet his death. Mr Monnakgotla took over as the Principal of the school up until 2007 when he two meet his death. Mrs Elmarie took over as the acting Principal in 2007, there after Mr George Kganare took over as the Principal of the school from 2008 till today.

The school has now 29 classrooms, an administration block with a staffroom, bookstore, strong room and four offices. It starts with Grade R up to Grade 7. It has a capacity to accommodate 1 200 learners.

Whereas the school upholds the right of all learners, parents and educators, and promotes their acceptance of responsibility in school governance in partnership with all role players, we provide an education of progressively high quality for all learners and in doing so, we lay a strong foundation for the development of all our learners talents and capabilities, creates a culture of teaching, learning and mutual respect and the establishment of culture of peace in our school.  
  • By working in co-operation and constant sonsultation with all stake holders in education.
     
  • By the provision of qualitative, Holistic and competitive education.
     
  • By developing our learners into marketable assets to the broader community.

 

Objectives of THE SCHOOL

 



 











 

To provide the learners with an education.
To admit learners and provide for their educational needs according to the stipulantions of Section 5 of the Act, without discriminating unfairly in any way.
To allow no form of racial discrimination in the implementation of the school's Language policy, according to the stipulations of Section 6 of the Act.
To allow religious practice at the school in a fair way and to allow attendance of learners and staff members on a voluntary basis according to the stipulations of section 7 of the Act.
To use the school funds, all income derived from it and all other assets of the school only according to the stipulations of Section 37 of the Act.
To function financially in such a way that the school will be able to fulfil its responsibilities.
To serve the community by preparing learners to be able to take up their place in the community as well-educated people.
To provide all staff members with the opportunity to grow proffessionally, to achieve job satisfaction, and in so doing, to deliver education of the highest quality.
To make a contribution towards the promotion of sports and cultural activities and to utilise these as educational opportunities to the advantage of the learners at the school.
